SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Caltrans’ three extensive construction projects in Yolo and Sacramento counties will include nighttime lane reductions scheduled for next week starting Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

To help keep all three projects on schedule, crews working on the $280 million Yolo I-80 Pavement Rehabilitation Project, the $200 million I-80 Express Lanes Project and the $511.1 million U.S. Highway 50 Multimodal Improvement Project (FIX50) will coordinate continuous nighttime lane reductions along the eastbound corridor. The work zone will extend from eastbound I-80 at Enterprise Boulevard in West Sacramento to eastbound U.S. Highway 50 at the State Route 99/Business 80 interchange in Sacramento.

The Yolo I-80 Pavement Rehabilitation Project and I-80 Express Lanes Project involve Eastbound I-80 and eastbound U.S. 50 from Enterprise Boulevard to the I-5 connector, lanes 1 and 2 will be closed.

Eastbound U.S. 50 from the I-5 connector to the SR 99/Business 80 interchange and lanes 1, 2, and 3 will be closed for the FIX50 Project.

All on and off-ramps within the work zone will remain open.

The work zone speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph and the California Highway Patrol will be present for traffic enforcement.

Work is scheduled to begin as listed but subject to change due to weather, availability of equipment and/or materials, or other construction-related issues. Motorists traveling through the work zone should expect lane restrictions and be aware of commercial work vehicles traveling in and out of the area. 

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
